LA is like another planet

No place could be more different from Shanghai, despite the coy claims of Shanghai natives (or the fabulous, fresh-off-the-boat party people who have glommed onto the Shanghai scene like Suckerman)

Even before the word entered my lexicon, Suckerman was ‘awesome’  http://www.bigredtoybox.com/cgi-bin/toynfo.pl?suckermanindex

I am sitting in a brand-spanking-new Custom Hotel (http://www.customhotel.com/) design-oriented boutique room, sucking in the “new car smell” (which, it turns out, is surprisingly not altogether unpleasant in the case of a hotel) and gazing at the snow-capped peaks in the distance.  Sweet.

LA is never smoggy any more.  Another point of comparison that Shanghai can  no longer claim.
